Chiropractic Care

Our Approach

Chiropractic care is like building a house; certain things have to happen in a particular order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care, as outlined below.

  • Phase 1: Initial Intensive Care

If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better.

  • Phase 2: Corrective Care

During the corrective care phase, adjustments and therapeutic exercises allow muscles and other tissues to heal more completely, thereby helping restore optimal function as well as prevent future injury.

  • Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body has fully healed it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to support the body’s ability to deal with continuing physical, chemical and emotional stresses that are a part of life. Wellness care helps maintain optimal ongoing function.

Neck Adjustment 2

Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustments are the primary treatment modality of all chiropractors. There are many different types of adjustments and techniques, but the essence of a chiropractic adjustment is that it mobilizes the joints of the body. With gravity, stress of life, aging, and traumas, it’s very common for joints in the body, particularly the spine and pelvis, to fixate and lock up. When this happens, many negative changes begin to occur at the respective level.

The chiropractic adjustment is the passive mobilization of a joint that produces minimal to maximal physiological benefits to muscles, nerves, tendons, and ligaments. Chiropractic is the only profession whose primary treatment consists of mobilizing joints. Today's chiropractic methods are more safe, comfortable and effective than ever before.

Adjustor and Percussor

The Erchonia Adjustor enables focused and fine-tuned (4 different pulses per second) mobilization of joints, resulting in the unblocking of neuropathways throughout the spine and body. This is used either as an enhancement to manual adjustments or, if a patient is contraindicated for a cervical rotation (neck) adjustment or, has a preference against cervical rotation, the adjustor is an excellent alternative.

The Erchonia Percussor vibrates at the same frequency as the soft tissue (fascia) of the body. It facilitates the unblocking of constricted energy flow throughout the body literally unwinding the tension in the fascia to allow the muscles to return to normal function.

TENS Muscle Stimulation

TENS, or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, is a treatment that uses low-voltage electric current to relieve muscle spasms. Slow electrical pulses cause muscles to contract and relax, which helps ease muscle pain and tightness. Muscle Stimulation is primarily used for acute conditions. In conjunction with ice, it helps decrease swelling and inflammation.

Intersegmental Traction

Intersegmental traction is an effective therapy that induces passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints and increasing mobility. Intersegmental traction helps to gently and effectively re-establish normal range of motion to your spine.

Flexion-Distraction is a gentle, safe, controlled treatment for spinal pain relief. Flexion Distraction drops intradiscal pressures, widens the spinal canal area, and returns motion to the spinal joints.

Wobble Chair

The Wobble Chair is a specially designed seat that provides 360° of rotation, 40° of side to side flexion and 35° of front to back flexion to facilitate all possible combinations of exercise motion needed for lumbar disc mobility, re-hydration, nutrition delivery, and waste elimination.
